Sigrid Schmeisser (AT/NL) is a geodesigner and artistic researcher whose practice is characterized by a site-responsive approach resulting in a range of multi-media based outcomes. A focus lies on investigating landfills as postnatural landscapes within the long-term project »Centre to Periphery«. It includes a lecture performance (premiered at Dutch Design Week 2023, Soil Horizons 2024), and adapted live-version for the Swiss Architecture Museum in Basel, 2024.

Other chapters include ongoing documentary photography, artistic publications, and an award-winning essay (Avery Review, July 2024). A second interest are more-than-human relationships including species with invasive behavior (»Solidago«), and foregrounding plants as agents and indicators within ecosystems (»Raccogliere Magazine«). Together with Miguel Teodoro she is currently working on a new editorial project focussed on soils (Soil Horizons).

She completed a second MA in Geo-Design (2023) at the Design Academy Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Peak15 is a design & research studio founded by Sigrid Schmeisser in 2016 in Scotland, which moved to the Netherlands in 2020. The studio works with academics and researchers to exhibit and publish their research.
